Volunteer

Our volunteers help us to provide food and practical support to people left without enough money to live on.

Volunteers make a difference in the local community across a range of roles, including boosting donations, packing food parcels, providing a warm welcome, tackling loneliness, signposting to additional services, connecting with partners, raising awareness and leading projects.

Volunteer roles

There’s a range of ways you can volunteer at our foodbank:

Warehouse volunteer

We need help to weigh, sort and store donated food before it’s made into parcels for clients to collect. You could help in this vital work to ensure we have the right food available at all times.

Helping at a foodbank centre

Meet clients and give out food parcels. Have an informal chat with clients over a cup of tea, to discuss their situation and signpost to further support.

Supermarket Collector

We hold collections at different local supermarkets on a monthly basis and we need volunteers to man our stand who are happy to interact with the supermarket customers to talk about the work of the Wisbech Food Bank and what can be donated during that collection day.
